Home of the Eastern Oregon Half-Marathon

The Course
The race begins 1/4 mile north of Service Creek on HWY 19 and follows the scenic John Day River Valley, to finish in the town of Spray, OR.  The surface is paved, with a twelve foot rise in elevation between start and finish.  Participants will run with traffic on the right side of the road.

 

Notes:
There will be portable restrooms at Service Creek, but none along the course. 
Liquids will be available at three places along the course and finish line.
 

Entry Fees
Half-marathon (includes t-shirt) pre-registered: $20.00 / $25.00 on race day
No t-shirt: subtract $5.00

To be assured a t-shirt you must register by May 21st.  Make checks payable to: Spray Rodeo Association

Awards
Hand-crafted awards will be presented to male and female winners in the following categories:
14 and under    15-19    20-24    25-29    30-34    35-39    40-44    45-49    50-54    55-59    60 and up, and the top three Wheeler County residents

Awards ceremony will begin promptly at 10:45 a.m.

Race results will be emailed the Monday following the race to those who provide an email address.  Others will be mailed.

Transportation
Bus transportation to starting line departs Spray School at 7:00 a.m. sharp.  If possible do not leave cars at Service Creek.  No return transportation will be provided.

Food, Beverage, and Other Accommodations
Pancakes, ham, and egg breakfast available at Spray School after the race.  Cafeteria style - family rates.

Dressing and shower accommodations provided by Spray School.  Hot water assured to those with fastest race times.  Please bring your own towels.

Other Information
Because of highway crossing hazards, the finish line and chute have been moved from the opposite side of the highway from its original location.  The race will be run entirely on the south/river side of the highway.

- The highway will NOT be closed for this race.
- Watch for vehicle traffic at all times.
-We have no desire to ban baby joggers, children on bicycles, or support vehicles from accompanying runners in this event.  This is a family event. However, if there are instances of such vehicles interfering with runners, both the non-runner and runner will be asked to leave the race course.
- Race course monitors are authorized to disqualify anyone acting in an unsafe manner.
